- Andrea Saccone Snyder is an artist and beauty maker. She was raised in western New York as the youngest (and only) daughter to a hairdresser/salon owner mother and her factory working father. She attended private art college after graduating from high school, and then went on to a 22 year career in the beauty industry. Andrea moved to N.C. in the late 90's and started weaving art/beauty into her everyday life personally and professionally!
Andrea has blended art and beauty into her life and work for as long as she can remember."As a hairstylist/salon owner I get to make each head of hair my canvas. I am a sculptor, colorist and architect. I get to touch people's hearts and soul's. When they walk out, they look and feel beautiful, each a masterpiece!"
Recently she has begun making her fine art life more of a central focus. "With my own personal artwork I have total freedom to express myself intuitively. I let my own feeling and emotions show up in the work. It's like I am being revealed, to myself each time I get the courage to face the blank canvas. I recently came to the realization that I am a true mixed media artist and the joy and excitement of working with various media is what fuels me." Wether she is working on an abstract or representational piece, you can be sure to see much texture and movement within the multiple layers of Andrea's work.
Andrea is currently working with waxes, inks, graphite and collage. Passionate about both the worlds of art and beauty and in the spirit of sustainability/reusability. Andrea's recent work is made using recycled salon paper materials.
She is in love with her husband and son and a cat named Abby. Andrea is happy to live in beautiful Chatham County N.C. A place full of creative artists/visionaries and lovers of beauty of all types.
